Mission Record December 24, 1944

Ordered from the National Archives and downloaded, this is a 219 page, 90MB file that contains mostly Crew Load Lists along with group documents detailing the mission to hit Schonecken, Germany on Christmas Eve 1944.  I was hoping to get loading lists for all 53 crews that participated on this mission, but only received 31. I am hoping to get the remaining 22 ordered, but need to figure out how to explain this to them. (If you have ever ordered from this agency, you will know that they are not the greatest on follow ups).

If you would like a copy of this mission record, please contact me.

Network Solutions Domain Registration (5 year)

This is for the domain name 458bg.com to be used by the site, and is valid through April 2025.

FOLD3 Renewal (1 Year)

The FOLD3 website is an invaluable resource for records from the National Archives. While USAAF photos can be downloaded for free, other holdings (documents) like Missing Air Crew Reports (MACR) and unit reports require a subscription.

I recently sent the group’s microfilm to them and they added these records to their site.  If you click here you can browse all of the group and squadron records. This requires registration, but is free.

They also have more than 300 high resolution photos of 458th aircraft, crews, aerial images etc. available to download.

New Website 2023

After 20 years on our old platform, we were told we had one month to move the site or lose it. Thanks to HL Media LLC and to all of you who contributed, the move was a great success.  Thank you all for your very kind and generous contributions that made this possible!

Web Hosting/Support Yearly Renewal

This keeps 458bg.com going every year.

Thank you everyone for helping to keep this history alive and available for all to see!!
